Game viewing
Our main emphasis is on game viewing and experiencing the wilderness of Botswana. Often keeping things as simple as possible adds to this experience. We will give you the maximum time on game drives to ensure you get the best possible chance to see and photograph as much wildlife as possible. Our vehicles are specially designed to optimize game viewing. Two travelers per bench seat allow for plenty of space for camera.
equipment, binoculars and books. In Botswana a number of activities are prohibited in National Parks and Game Reserves but can be done in the community run concession on the Khwai River. Night drives are allowed here to spot the nocturnal life found in the wilderness.
Meals on Safari
Our meals are wholesome and plentiful and are prepared with fresh produce by our chef. We provide 3 wholesome, healthy meals per day. Coffee and tea stations are available in the dining tent at all time of the day. Tea box, Snacks and drinks are available on the game drive. Fresh bread is baked over the fire as the trip progresses. Kindly keep in mind that if there is anything more that we can do to make your stay with us more enjoyable, feel free to let us know. Food is an integral part of a safari and we ask that you do not feel inhibited in this regard. We would rather do a little extra during the trip to have happy guests than have unhappy ones at the end. Vegetarians and special meals always welcome - please notify us when booking.
Guides & Crew
Our professional and knowledgeable guides lead the safari. The task of the guide is to describe the ecology of the region and interpret the wilderness. Our guides go to great lengths to ensure that you get into the right position for photographic opportunities. Our guides and staff are all well trained and experienced and are more than willing to share their lives with you. Don't hesitate to ask as many questions as possible to gain insight into this amazing land. Our safari crew travel in a separate vehicle to prepare our private comfortable camp prior to the our arrival. Their task is to ensure all details of the camp set up and to provide meals and services required by people travelling with us.
Daily Life In Camp
As you can, imagine , life in the wilderness starts early (5 am in summer and 6 am in winter). You will be given a wake-up call by one of the camp staff who will at the same time pour warm water into a basin by your tent. This water can be used to brush your teeth or rinse your face or even to have a shave. After breakfast we set off on our morning game drive. If we are moving camp we request that guests have their bags packed and ready before breakfast so that the camp staff can start breaking camp. During the course of the drive we will stop for morning tea , and when we are not moving camp we return there at around midday for lunch and a siesta , departing once again after afternoon tea, at around 3 pm.
Returning to camp at sunset we will have time for a shower to freshen up before dinner (in the colder months the shower will also be available in the afternoon for those who prefer it then).
Please understand that this is just a guideline to daily activities. It is not unusual to spend more time away from camp because of wildlife viewing opportunities.
Accommodation
On the luxury safaris accommodation is in spacious mini-"meru" tents with en-suite shower and toilet facilities. There are proper beds in the tents as well lighting. All tents are mosquito proof.
Affordable accommodation is offered in comfortable "dome" or "cottage" tents. Camp beds with comfortable bedrolls with bed linen and pillow are provided. There is a lamp in the tent. Please note that shower and toilet facilities are not en-suite, but are shared.
